Keystone
Keystone is a full scale, four season resort. Think a small, self-contained town at the foot of a great ski mountain, trails for hiking, biking or horse back, two golf courses, and a complete array of lodging options. Plus, restaurants, shops, and activities for the entire family.
Keystone has long been regarded one of the top family-friendly ski and board mountains in North America, but every skill level can find terrain on the three mountains that make up the Keystone skiing experience. The original Keystone, now known as Dercum Mountain, offers a top rated beginners trail, Schoolmarm, and a number of excellent cruisers throughout the mountain. Advanced skiers will want to make their way down the back of Dercum to North Peak, or continue over to the next mountain The Outback. Regardless of which mountain you carve a turn on, Keystone will offer a first rate guest experience.
There are two separate base areas with ski schools, food and beverage service, shops and rentals. River Run is where you can catch the first of two 6 passenger gondolas that complement the other 17 lifts throughout the area. The gondolas make it possible for a non-skier to join friends or family at one of the lodges on top of the mountains and enjoy lunch and some magnificent views of Lake Dillon, and Summit County. The River Run area is also where you can take in some night skiing, in a big mountain setting.
Regardless of the season, or the reason, Keystone is an outstanding resort experience.
