Loveland Ski Area. Now that's kickin' it old school. There are modern amenities at Loveland. It even has Wi-Fi in the lodges, but if you long for the days when you could park and walk to the lift, rent a locker without taking out a second mortgage, and feed the family a nice lunch for about 20 bucks, then exit here.

Loveland is not in Summit County but on the east side of the Eisenhower Tunnel or Loveland Pass, about a 20 minute drive away. Loveland is included here because of that proximity, easy access off of I-70, small area charm, and outstanding skiing. Locals and Front Range skiers know all about Loveland, and make-up the majority of the skier visits. If you are a vacation destination skier you should go native and ski this mountain for a day.

Like Arapahoe Basin, there is not a base village here. This is a ski and snowboard area. Located in the elevation band of 10-13,00 feet, Loveland has skiing above timberline, and the open bowl, or snowfield experience. There are great runs for every level of skier and the area is easy to navigate for the entire family.

Loveland is separated into two areas called the Valley and Basin, connected by a shuttle bus that makes the short run from one to the other throughout the day. Complete services are available on either side although Loveland Basin is the larger of the two base areas, with more lifts and runs. This area offers a nice ski and snowboard experience at a great value.
